August 8, 2026 Update (AM)

Progress is being made in the Village of Clinton to return residents home as soon as it is safe to do so. We know our community wants to learn the status and timelines for when they can expect some normalcy during these challenging times. We will communicate progress regularly to keep you informed about the activities that need to happen before our community can return home.

BC Hydro
️✅ All outages within the Village of Clinton have been restored.

NOTE: Restoring electricity is an important step in supporting emergency crews and helping essential services return as quickly as possible.
While the evacuation order remains in place, access is restricted to authorized personnel only. Access to residents is not permitted at this time.

Water
⚙️ Work to remove danger trees around the water treatment plant continues. Crews are also checking the upper reservoir, water pipes and other parts of the water system for debris and any damage caused by the wildfire.
⚙️ Water testing continues as part of the work to safely restore the community’s drinking water system. Additional inspections and testing will continue over the coming days with support from partner agencies and technical specialists.
