The outlook for re-entry is encouraging, and the entire team is working hard to make a safe return possible as soon as we can. When that time comes, returning home will be an important milestone, but there will still be work ahead for all of us as our community begins to recover.
The Emergency Operations Centre is now focused on the work needed to bring residents home as soon as it is safe to do so.

Weather
Light rain fell in the Clinton area overnight, the skies are much clearer today.
What still needs to happen before re-entry?

Village safety assessment
⚙️ A comprehensive safety assessment of the Village is expected to be completed by the end of today. A team of specialists (Rapid Damage Assessment) is currently assessing buildings and properties, identifying remaining hazardous materials or areas of contamination, and determining what additional work may be needed before residents can safely return. Completing this assessment will be a significant step forward in the re-entry process.
Water
⚙️ Water system infrastructure: Work to remove danger trees around the water treatment plant continues. Crews are also checking the upper reservoir, water pipes and other parts of the water system for debris or damage caused by the wildfire.
⚙️ Water testing and flushing: Crews are testing the water and flushing pipes throughout the system. Further inspections and testing will continue with support from technical specialists and partner agencies.
Community safety and services
❌ Transportation: Roads, bridges and transportation routes have not been confirmed safe and/or accessible.
❌ Emergency medical services: Emergency medical services are not yet operational.
⚙️ Wildfire: Wildfire activity and related hazards continue to be actively managed. Threats to the Village and surrounding area are currently under control.
⚙️ Air quality: Air quality assessments have been completed; however, smoke and air quality remain ongoing concerns.
⚙️ Community supports: Essential services and public supports are being prepared to support residents as they safely return home.
✅ Power: Electrical service is fully functional.
✅ Communications: TELUS phone service is functioning.
✅ Natural gas: FortisBC service is functioning.
✅ Emergency response: Fire, police and 911 response are ready.

This work involves multiple agencies and service providers, including BC Wildfire Service, the TNRD, transportation authorities, utility providers, health authorities and emergency management partners.
