August 4, 2026 Daily Status Update

📋Daily status update – returning home progress

Progress is being made in the Village of Clinton to return residents home as soon as it is safe to do so. We know our community wants to learn the status of and timelines for when they can expect some normalcy during these challenging times.

We will communicate progress regularly to keep you informed about the activities that need to happen before our community can return home.

What still need to happens?

❌= not complete
⚙️= partially complete
✅= complete


❌ Wildfire and related hazards no longer pose a threat in the immediate and surrounding areas

❌ Roads, bridges and transportation routes are safe and accessible

❌ Drinking water and air quality assessments have been completed

⚙️ Hazardous areas have been identified and secured

❌ Power, communications and other critical utilities are functioning or have restoration plans in place

⚙️Damage assessments have been completed to understand impacts to homes, businesses and infrastructure

❌ Fire, police, emergency medical services and 911 access are available

❌ Essential services and public supports are ready to assist residents upon return

Who is involved?

These assessments involve multiple agencies and service providers, including BC Wildfire Service, the TNRD, transportation authorities, utility providers, health authorities and emergency management partners.

Stay informed

We will provide additional details on these topics and more in our upcoming community notice updates.

We are committed to returning residents home as soon as it is safe and we will continue providing regular updates through Village of Clinton’s communications channels.

📢Residents should monitor Voyent Alert, the Village of Clinton website and official Village Facebook channel for current information. Information about surrounding TNRD areas is available through eoc.tnrd.ca and emergencyinfobc.ca.
