Status Update – returning home progress
While the work towards recovery is moving forward, there is currently no scheduled date for residents to return home, and the evacuation order remains in place.
Access to the Village of Clinton and the evacuation order area remains restricted. At this time, access is limited to first responders and for life-saving purposes only.

Recovery and assessments involve many agencies and service providers, including BC Wildfire Service, the TNRD, transportation authorities, utility providers, health authorities and emergency management partners.
Water
⚙️ Work to remove danger trees around the water treatment plant continues. Crews are also checking the upper reservoir, water pipes and other parts of the water system for debris or damage caused by the wildfire.
⚙️ Crews are testing the water and flushing pipes throughout the system. Further inspections and testing will continue with support from technical specialists and partner agencies.
Community safety and services
❌ Wildfire and related hazards continue to pose a threat to the immediate and surrounding areas.
❌ Roads, bridges and transportation routes unsafe and/or inaccessible.
❌ Air quality assessments have been completed. Air quality remains at dangerous levels due to smoke.
️✅ Power is fully functional.
️✅ TELUS (phone) communications are functioning.
⚙️ Fortis service continues, safety evaluation will be needed upon re-entry.
️✅ Fire, police and 911 access is ready.
❌ Emergency medical services remain offline.
⚙️ Essential services and public supports are in planning stage.

We are committed to returning residents home as soon as it is safe and we will continue providing regular updates through Village of Clinton’s communications channels.

Air quality is worse in Kamloops than Clinton,c,Mon now .you are aware 70 mile is open again right? It’s been long enough already
I was just wondering when you might have an idea when we can return to the village of clinton and when hwy 97 from 70 mile house all the way to clinton will be reopened
So l don’t understand. Fires around town should be out. We gave you enough time. Roads,who wants to travel them you killed what was left of our beautiful scenery. Air quality. Out here we still have the same horrible smokey air quantity . Put the fires out. Enough is enough. The games and training should end .
Where is the TIME-LINE for return? Or are we going to be Lytton 2.0?
