We know residents have many questions about coming home. We encourage everyone who is able to join us for this important update.

The Evacuation Order remains in effect at this time. Please do not return to Clinton until the Order has officially been lifted.

MORE INFO

At this meeting, residents in affected areas will receive an update from the BC Wildfire Service on the Pear Lake wildfire, and updates on recovery from the TNRD, Village of Clinton, and BC Hydro. Information will be provided to help residents prepare for safe re-entry when evacuation orders are lifted.

Details will be provided regarding existing hazards, clean-up, recovery, and waste disposal.

The online meeting will be recorded and uploaded to the TNRD YouTube page upon its conclusion. www.youtube.com/@ThompsonNicolaRegionalDistrict

While an Evacuation Order remains in place for the Village of Clinton and approximately 449 addressed TNRD properties due to the Pear Lake wildfire, residents in and around Clinton should start preparing themselves for re-entry. Wildfire activity is diminishing in many evacuated areas due to the Pear Lake wildfire, and significant progress has been made on re-establishing infrastructure and removing hazards to allow for safe re-entry.

The TNRD has prepared two information packages to support residents during re-entry, which can be viewed or printed by clicking the links below:

  • Returning Home After a Wildfire information package
  • Pear Lake Wildfire Waste Disposal information package

Additionally, a Resiliency Centre with supports for residents will be set up in Clinton. More information will be provided in the coming days as details on a formal Resiliency Centre are confirmed.

For more information on current emergency notices, the interactive emergency map, and supports for impacted property owners please visit eoc.tnrd.ca.
