Once again, we are seeing our community and our neighbours step up to support one another. From help for pets and animals to new resources for recovery, that support will continue to be important in the days and weeks ahead.
Today’s update shares some of those resources, along with an important new wildfire safety restriction for the Clinton area.
Clinton Wildfire Recovery Fund
🍎 The Clinton Food Bank has established the Clinton Wildfire Recovery Fund to support individuals, families, businesses and community organizations impacted by the 2026 wildfires in Clinton and surrounding areas.
The fund provides a trusted, locally based option for those who have been asking how they can support the Clinton community. The Clinton Food Bank has advised that 100% of donations will go directly toward wildfire recovery efforts in Clinton and surrounding areas.

Recreational off-road vehicle restriction
Effective Aug. 10, recreational use of off-road vehicles on Crown land in the Kamloops Fire Centre, including the Clinton area, is temporarily prohibited due to extreme wildfire conditions.
The restriction includes ATVs, off-road motorcycles and side-by-side vehicles. It is intended to reduce the risk of new, human-caused wildfires during the current hot and dry conditions.
The restriction does not apply to private land or national parks, or to emergency responders and people using off-road vehicles for agriculture, farming or commercial and industrial work.
Anyone who violates the restriction may face a fine of up to $1,150. If their actions cause or contribute to a wildfire, they may also be responsible for firefighting and associated costs.
BC Wildfire Service is asking people to avoid backcountry areas where possible while wildfire activity remains high.
Support for pets and animals
🐾 The BC SPCA is providing support for people and animals affected by wildfires, including free emergency pet boarding, pet food and supplies, and assistance with animals left behind during an evacuation.
